The Pelleting Process

Borregaard is the world’s most advanced biorefinery - and we use wood, a natural , sustainable raw material, to manufacture our products. Two of those products, LignoBond DD and Ameri-Bond 2X, are used in the production of animal feed pellets. They are well known as binders, but offer a lot more than just that!

A New And Sustainable Way Of Treating Fish Silage

Borregaard's patented SoftAcid technology offers a new an sustainable way of treating fish silage. Watch this video to learn more about the benefits that can be seen at various steps of the value chain.

Holmen NHP300

The Holmen NHP300 Pellet Durability Tester is ideally suited to a busy mill. Samples are automatically taken from the production line, tested, returned to the line, and a PDI result provided to the NHP300 control software, or to your current mill management software. Taking a sample from the process line enables changes to be made at a point that will maximise production, reduce cost, minimise waste and maintain pellet quality. In addition to calculating the PDI, the amount of ‘dust’ (Fines) can be calculated. Up to four pellet lines can be tested by one NHP300 with the option to return samples back to their original lines too.

Holmen NHP100 Pellet Durability Tester

The Holmen NHP100 is our entry level Pellet Durability Tester which is designed to be easily transported around different testing locations. The NHP100 operates by loading a manually weighed sample of pellets into the test chamber, which cascades them in an air stream, causing the pellets to collide with each other and the perforated hard surfaces of the test chamber. After the test cycle the pellets are manually removed and weighed to obtain a ‘Pellet Durability Index’ (PDI) reading.

Holmen NHP200 Automatic Pellet Durability Tester

The NHP200 Series 2, is the flagship Holmen pellet durability tester used worldwide for calculating the Pellet Durability Index (PDI) of feed and wood pellets by simulating the pellet transportation environment from mill to trough. Once a sample of pellets is loaded into the machine it removes any fines, weighs the sample, tests the pellets by agitating them with air, weighs the remaining sample and calculates the PDI. This automatic solution removes the chance of human error, creating accurate and reliable results.

Truck Probe Grain Sampler, The Samplex CS6000

The CS60 truck probe can be used to sample a variety of products and is ideal for low to medium throughput facilities. The patented spear design ensures product enters the spear under gravity, providing a representative sample, which is important for testing. The 340° rotation allows for a variety of samples to be taken along the arms movement curve. Samples are automatically transported to a reception chamber with a transparent viewing tube to allow for instant viewing. All Samplex truck probes are made from galvanised steel, meaning they last for a long time without rusting.
