The Hannover Messe ( Hanover Fair) is one of the world's largest trade fairs. It is held on the Hanover Fairground in Hanover, Lower Saxony, Germany. Typically, there are about 6,500 exhibitors and 250,000 visitors.
The Hannover Messe started in 1947 in an undamaged factory building in Laatzen, south of Hanover, by an arrangement of the British military government in order to boost the economic advancement of post-war Germany. The first fair was colloquially known as Fischbrötchen Messe (Fischbrötchen fair) due to the exemptions in food rationing for the fair at this time. It proved hugely successful and was hence repeated on a yearly basis, contributing largely to the success of the Hannover fairground in replacing the then-East German city of Leipzig as the new major fair city for West Germany.
In the 1980s, the growing information and telecommunication industry demanded the organizer Deutsche Messe AG to split the fair. The CeBIT is a successful spin-off of the Hannover Messe.
Nowadays, the Hanover Fair covers all areas of industrial technology.
The Holmen NHP300 Pellet Durability Tester is ideally suited to a busy mill.
Samples are automatically taken from the production line, tested, returned to the line, and a PDI result provided to the NHP300 control software, or to your current mill management software.
Taking a sample from the process line enables changes to be made at a point that will maximize production, reduce cost, minimize waste and maintain pellet quality.
In addition to calculating the PDI, the amount of ‘dust’ (Fines) can be calculated.
Up to four pellet lines can be tested by one NHP300 with the option to return samples back to their original lines too.
-Suitable for animal feed & wood pellets
-Takes samples from the production line
-Operated by Windows software (provided), or can be paired with mill management software.
-Reproducible accuracy of ± 0.1%
-Helps to eliminate waste, maintain quality, and reduce cost.

Stefan Omvik, Marketing manager for Borregaard LignoTech’s feed additives, states ‘we see Egypt as a very exciting market. Egyptian feed producers started to produce pelleted feeds only a few years ago and pellet qualities are not yet quite up to international standards. A poor pellet quality means that there will be a significant segregation of fines during production, handling and transport – in some cases as much as 40-50% of the manufactured feed can be ‘lost’ as fines before it is served to the animal. Consequently, the animals will not get the full nutritional diet that has been carefully designed for them. The use of pelleting aids like LignoBond DD and PellTech will address this problem. We are also confident that Nutrivet Misr is the right partner for us. They have a very competent staff, a lot of contacts and a good reputation in the Egyptian feed industry. Furthermore, they believe in and will prioritise our products. This is essential for us when we evaluate and choose new partners.’
Dr Alaa Sarhan, General manager of Nutrivet Misr, adds: ‘We are very pleased to go into this partnership with Borregaard LignoTech. We have been interested in adding pelleting aids to our product range for some time now and approached Borregaard because of their well-known quality products, technical expertise and experience. We will now start to demonstrate the benefits and value of LignoBond DD and PellTech to our customers in Egypt by running feed mill trials. For this purpose we have also purchased a portable New Holmen pellet tester that will be used to measure pellet quality/durability.’
